CIO 200 Awards – Bahrain Chapter Concludes Successfully

The CIO 200 TECHtalk and Global CIO Awards held in association with the Artificial Intelligence Society Bahrain at The Gulf Hotel on 7th November 2018, celebrated the achievements and path-breaking projects of the CIOs and IT Heads from the kingdom.

The Global CIO Forum represents IT Executives and CIOs globally. The GLOBAL CIO FORUM is a non – profit community of CIOs  and IT leaders whose mission is to facilitate networking, sharing of best practices and executive development,  and to collaborate on issues faced by the CIOs/IT Executives.

The Global CIO Forum grows IT leaders, speaks with one voice on issues facing CIOs, and builds a vendor-neutral community for safe exchange of ideas and best practices.

The Global CIO Forum brings the world’s biggest roadshow which will take place in UAE, Ghana, Kenya, Nigeria, Egypt, India, Bahrain, Qatar, Kuwait, Oman, Saudi Arabia.

Dr. Jassim Haji, President of the Artificial Intelligence Society inaugurated the forum. In the wake of the fourth industrial revolution, organizations across the Middle East are beginning to realise the shift globally towards AI and advanced technologies. Dr. Haji said – “While much of Artificial Intelligence technology is still fairly rudimentary at the moment, we can expect sophisticated AI to soon significantly impact our everyday lives. The AI society is to convert Bahrain into a regional center for AI Research & Development and attract multinational silicon companies to the kingdom.”

Tushar Sahoo, Managing Director of GEC Media Group said – “CIO 200 is not a competition but a celebration. The awards recognize the work of the CIOs from various sectors in the digital transformations of the organizations. We celebrated every single project of the winners, be it big or small that has succeeded in bringing a difference to the organization.”

“The categories in which we have distinguished the winners is purely based on the career span of the CIO and their achievements. The categories are Next-gen (5 to 15 years of experience), Leader (10 – 15), Master (Above 20) and Legend (Life time achievement),” he added.

“The Kingdom of Bahrain has always been a catalyst in openly adopting emerging technologies. The interactions that we had with the CIOs during the process showed us how the decision makers have set their eyes on a long-term vision in developing the region on the path of digital excellence. We are grateful to the support that we received from the senior leaderships of the region. We are also thankful to The AI Society Bahrain for associating with the event under the leadership of Dr. Jassim Haji, President of the AI Society,” commented Anushree Dixit, Editor, GEC Media Group.

“This has been a successful event and first CIO award ever held in Bahrain. We hope CIO 200 continues in the kingdom for years to follow with larger participations,” added Dr. Haji.
