The World CIO 200 Summit 2026 – Egypt Edition, held at the Ramses Hilton Hotel, Cairo, on 4th August, successfully brought together the country’s most influential CIOs, technology leaders, policymakers, and industry experts for a day of insightful discussions, strategic collaboration, and recognition of digital leadership. As the global roadshow continues across multiple international destinations, the Egypt edition reinforced the Summit’s mission of building a connected global technology community while advancing innovation, responsible leadership, and digital transformation.
The summit commenced with the National Anthem, followed by a warm welcome from Ronak Samantaray, CEO & Co-Founder, Global Enterprise Connect, who highlighted the growing significance of global collaboration in shaping the future of enterprise technology. The opening address was delivered by Eng. Mohamed Sadat, President, Global CIO Forum Egypt Country Chapter, and Dr. Mohamed Hamed, Consultant ICT & Cyber Security, Board Member, Global CIO Forum Egypt Country Chapter, who emphasized Egypt’s accelerating digital transformation journey and the importance of collaborative leadership.
The Community pillar opened with an inspiring keynote, “The Collaborative CIO: Powering Cross-Industry Tech Alliances,” presented by Dr. Hesham Farouk, Advisor for Technology Development, Ministry of Communications and Information Technology (MCIT). The session explored how technology leaders can strengthen cross-sector partnerships to drive innovation and national digital growth.
Representing the event partner, Muhamad Matar, Regional Sales Engineer, Crowd Strike, shared valuable insights during the Partner’s Note on AI-driven ecosystem collaboration and secure digital platforms for community-scale transformation, highlighting the role of cybersecurity in enabling trusted digital ecosystems.
The panel discussion, “Collective Cyber Defense: How CIO Communities Are Shaping the Future of Digital Security,” was moderated by Dr. Waleed Hagag, Information Security Expert & Advisor to the Supreme Advisory Board for Cybersecurity and Information Technology, Hackers Hunter (Information Security). The discussion featured distinguished panelists Dr. Emma AlShawish, Smart Solutions Creator & International Business Consultant, The Gold Room Agency; Eng. Heba Samir Rizk, Digital Business Transformation Department Manager, AMOC; and Mona Mohamed Ibrahim Murad, Head of Instructional Technology, Futures Educational Systems, who shared perspectives on strengthening cyber resilience through collaboration, knowledge sharing, and community-driven security initiatives.
Under the Knowledge pillar, Dr. Rasha El-Banna, Academic Expert, Director of Digital Arts & Marketing, Digital Egypt Generations (DEG), Ministry of Communications and Information Technology (MCIT), Egypt, delivered a compelling keynote titled “Human-Centered AI: Empowering Innovation Through Responsible Technology and Human Creativity.” The session highlighted the importance of ethical AI, creativity, and responsible innovation in shaping the future digital economy.
The leadership panel, “Navigating Technology Trends, Cyber Resilience, and the Future of Digital Transformation,”was moderated by Yehia Zakaria, CTO, Hamza Group and featured Essam ElSayed, CIO, MAFI; Yasser ElSaid, CIO, CTO & CISO, Confidential; Wael Badran, Group Business Solution Senior Director, Elsewedy Electric Group; Mostafa Mohamed Gouda, Group Technology Services Senior Manager, Cleopatra Hospitals Group (CHG); and Hany Ahmed, Head of IT, Agility Infrastructure. The panel explored emerging technology trends, cyber resilience strategies, AI adoption, and the evolving responsibilities of today’s CIOs.
Following networking discussions over lunch, the summit transitioned into the Health pillar with the panel “Sustainable Digital Leadership – Balancing Innovation, Wellbeing, and Responsible Technology.” Moderated by Dr. Gaber Galal, Head of IT & Infosec Audit, Suez Canal Bank, the session featured Ahmed Wattar, IT Director, APEX Healthcare; Dr. Ramy Samir, Cluster IT Manager & Digital Transformation, Bel Group; Eng. Amr Sobhy Abd ElAtty, IT Manager, Asfour Crystal International; and Mahmoud Hosny, Head of IT & Cybersecurity, Hassad for Agriculture. The discussion focused on sustainable leadership, organizational resilience, executive wellbeing, and responsible technology adoption in today’s increasingly complex digital landscape.
The Human pillar concluded with the panel “Human-Centric Digital Transformation: Why Technology Alone Doesn’t Transform Organizations.” Moderated by Mona Ali, Information Technology Director, Macro Group & Data & AI Advisor, the discussion featured Heba Adel, Strategic Planning Expert and Director of Technical Affairs for Digital Egypt Pioneers Initiative – DEPI, and Eng. Ziad Abdel Tawab, Assistant Secretary General for Information Systems and Digital Transformation, The Egyptian Cabinet, who emphasized that successful transformation depends on leadership, culture, talent, and people-first strategies as much as technology itself.
