Indonesia Chapter
Indonesia has set ambitious goals for its digital future, with the Making Indonesia 4.0 roadmap and the National Digital Transformation Strategy reflecting the country’s commitment to becoming Southeast Asia’s largest digital economy. With a strong focus on smart cities, e-Government, digital payments, e-commerce, and artificial intelligence (AI), Indonesia is building a technology-driven foundation to support inclusive and sustainable economic growth.
In support of this vision, the Indonesian government is investing heavily in digital infrastructure, including the Palapa Ring fiber optic network, nationwide 4G expansion and 5G rollout, and the 100 Smart Cities Movement initiative. These developments are accelerating digital adoption across industries, empowering startups and MSMEs, and enabling businesses to innovate at scale. Together, these efforts are creating a vibrant digital ecosystem where technology plays a central role in improving public services, boosting productivity, and strengthening Indonesia’s position in the global digital economy.
