Progress in diversity awareness

There has been progress in diversity awareness over the past three years. CEOs and heads of HR are increasingly putting it at the top of their agendas. KPMG Lower Gulf has launched initiatives to foster an inclusive working environment. Its flexible working policies are especially favourable for women and working mothers.

The firm established the KPMG network of women KNOW to allow its members to share experiences and build business connections. In addition, KPMG established a dedicated mentorship programme to support the career development of female employees.

Marketa’s role involves analysing organisational structure, developing talent and delivering change management projects. Marketa is the link between KPMG’s advisory business and internal HR.

My ideal work environment is one where employees enjoy high levels of empowerment and accountability. Marketa strives to provide appropriate guidance and empowers the team with the right resources. She does not favour micromanagement, and instead aims to ensure her team ultimately delivers high-quality results.

Marketa provides clients with holistic business solutions. Her work often culminates in efficiency and profitability, and improved employee happiness and productivity. It is highly satisfying to see her solutions being implemented with tangible, positive results.

The pandemic affected employee relationships and team culture. A challenge was adhering to social distancing while maintaining employee morale and continuing to exceed client expectations. Marketa is encouraging her team to meet in-person, as she believes this inspires exchange of ideas, creativity and innovation.
